As the weather cools and we start to think about turning our
furnaces on and burning all the leaves in the backyard. Reliable Heating
& Air wants you to do it safely and we have put together some helpful tips,
resources and of course our professional electricians and furnace maintenance
tune ups can help as well. The focus of this year’s fire safety week is
smoke alarms:
Assess the age of your smoke alarms. National
Fire Protection Association recommends smoke alarms be replaced very ten
years. Look at the back of your alarm the manufacturer provides the date.
How many smoke alarms should you have? One smoke alarm
needs to be installed in every sleeping room and outside each separate sleeping
area. Also a smoke alarm needs to be on every level of your home.
Smoke alarms need to all be connected together. When
one goes off they all need to go off.
Test your smoke alarms one a month.
